Mo’i Lunalilo was the first Mo’i’s that the people voted to have him become their King. He was the shortest reigning Mo’i but had the most Land in the Kingdom. The Lunalilo Home is a home that the Trust started to take care of our Kupuna. There are two residents of Lunalilo Home that attended the Service they are Keone Agard, member of Queen Emma Hawaiian Civic Club and Jalna Keala now member of a Club in the Maui Council. Ali’i Nui King William Charles Lunalilo’s Birthday is Monday, January 31, 2022.
The Pearl Harbor Hawaiian Civic Honored the Mo’i by our Annual Gift Giving Ho’okupu that was delivered to Lunalilo Home at the end of December. Our Co-Chairs for this event were Amanda & Pono Estores. Mahalo Nui, Amanda and Pono for chairing this Committee and delivering the Ho’okupu. The King’s Tomb was open after church so Association President Hailama Farden led the few Clubs that attended the Ali’i Sunday into the Tomb: Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu, Waianae, Ko’olaupoko, Kailua, Pearl Harbor, and Lualualei Hawaiian Civic Clubs. Our Mo’i was noted as The People’s King and wrote Hawai’i’s first National Anthem, E Ola Ke Ali’i Ke Akau that was sung in Church on Sunday.
