The Hokule'a spent a week in Pearl Harbor on another of their Mahalo Tour of Malama Honua visiting our Ahupua'a. Pearl Harbor played a very big part in that visit. We fed the crew Breakfasts, Lunches and Dinners during the week. President Charles Kapua and Immediate Past President Toni Lee were invited to sail the Hokule'a Back to Sand Island on Friday, February 16, 2017 at 5:30 pm. The evening Sail was just beautiful. We had three members aboard that evening and Pearl Harbor took Kulolo for the Crew as Ho'okupu. The third Member from Pearl Harbor was Mark Ellis who is also a Hokule'a Crew Member. Hundreds of students and the Community were able to visit and get aboard Hokule'a all week. Hokule'a continues to visit the Islands to have the children and the Community to experience this great Vessel.
Mark Ellis our Historian and another Crew Member works at getting the Hokule'a right up to the pier. President Charles Kapua watches them Achieve this tremendous task. Mission Accomplished! It was a great Evening Sail. Nainoa Thompson was the Captain aboard.
Majestic Hokule'a docks at the Rainbow Marina in Pearl Harbor to start s week of inviting the school's and the Community on their Mahalo visits around Oahu. They pulled in on Saturday Morning, February 10, 2018.
